BRIEF DESCRIPTION

NAVFAC project provided repairs to the basement to reduce the flow of seawater and ground water to manageable levels. Improvements included brick and concrete work on the walls and floors and upgrades/additions to existing sump system.

The intent of the seawall repairs was to restore structural stability to the existing seawall and maintain safe public access to the waterfront. Repairs included removal or reconstruction of the granite blocks with construction of a new concrete backer wall behind the seawall. The work also included removal and replacement of the sidewalk, buildings elevated platform, stairway to the sidewalk, and appurtenances that are all within the area of the seawall repair.

QC MANAGER SCOPE OF WORK

  • Procedures for tracking preparatory, initial, and follow-up control phases; control, verification, and acceptance tests including documentation
  • Coordination of project logistics, materials and equipment
  • Managing the day-to-day quality control activities
  • Kept designated personnel and management staff apprised of status of work
  • Ensured all reports were prepared and submitted in accordance with the QC Plan, including the Daily Quality Control Reports
  • Maintained all the project quality control files
  • Reported and logged any work not meeting Spec requirements
  • Recorded all data in QCS database
