BRIEF DESCRIPTION

Venice Dredging, Sarasota County Florida

The Venice Dredging project included maintenance dredging of shoaled areas in the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway (GIWW) and Venice Inlet. The required dredging depth was 9 feet MLLW with 2-foot allowable overdepth and 7 feet MLLW with 1-foot allowable overdepth.

All dredged material was beach quality and was placed in the beach disposal area, immediately south of the inlet. Incidental work included turbidity monitoring, environmental species monitoring, vibration monitoring and beach fill quality control.

TITAN provided QC Management and Turbidity Testing to the project.

  • Procedures for tracking preparatory, initial, and follow-up control phases; control, verification, and acceptance tests including documentation
  • Coordination of project logistics, materials and equipment
  • Managing the day-to-day quality control activities
  • Kept designated personnel and management staff apprised of status of work
  • Ensured all reports were prepared and submitted in accordance with the QC Plan, including the Daily Quality Control Reports
  • Maintained all the project quality control files
  • Reported and logged any work not meeting Spec requirements
  • Recorded all data in QCS database
