CAR WASH
WHIDBEY ISLAND, WA NAVMWR-20-C-0005

BRIEF DESCRIPTION

This project involves the construction of a new state-of-the-art car wash facility at Whidbey Island, WA. The facility is designed to serve both Navy and civilian vehicles and equipment on the base. The project includes exterior upgrades, foundational work, the installation of a pre-engineered metal building, and comprehensive mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and communication systems. Additionally, various environmental milestones will be considered to ensure compliance with Washington’s environmental permits.

Scope of Work:

  1. Site Preparation and Foundations:

    • Conduct thorough site assessments to prepare for construction activities.
    • Excavate and lay foundations to support the pre-engineered metal building, ensuring structural integrity and compliance with local building codes.
  2. Pre-Engineered Metal Building:

    • Install a pre-engineered metal building that meets the specific needs of the car wash facility.
    • Ensure the structure is designed for durability, energy efficiency, and ease of maintenance.
  3. Exterior Upgrades:

    • Enhance the exterior aesthetics of the facility to blend with the surrounding environment and base architecture.
    • Install durable, weather-resistant materials to ensure long-term performance and low maintenance.

4. Mechanical Systems:

  • Install advanced mechanical systems necessary for the operation of the car wash, including water recycling and filtration systems.
  • Ensure all mechanical installations meet efficiency standards and are designed for minimal environmental impact.

5. Electrical Systems:

  • Set up robust electrical systems to support the car wash equipment, lighting, and other electrical needs.
  • Implement energy-efficient solutions to reduce the facility’s energy consumption and operational costs.

6. Plumbing Systems:

  • Install comprehensive plumbing systems to manage water supply, drainage, and wastewater treatment.
  • Ensure the plumbing infrastructure supports efficient water use and complies with environmental regulations.

7. Communications Systems:

  • Establish communication systems to support operational needs, including data and network connections.
  • Implement systems that ensure seamless communication and integration with base operations.

8. Signage and Wayfinding:

  • Design and install clear, functional signage to guide users through the facility.
  • Ensure all signage complies with safety and regulatory standards, providing necessary information and directions.

9. Environmental Compliance:

  • Adhere to all Washington state environmental regulations and milestones throughout the construction process.
  • Implement best practices for minimizing environmental impact, including pollution control and sustainable construction methods.

10. Safety and Security Measures:

  • Incorporate comprehensive safety protocols to protect workers and future users of the facility.
  • Implement security measures to safeguard the facility and its operations in line with base security requirements.

11. Quality Assurance and Project Management:

  • Conduct regular inspections and quality checks to ensure all construction activities meet the highest standards.
  • Maintain detailed documentation and communication with stakeholders to ensure project transparency and timely completion.

Whidbey Island’s new car wash facility will provide essential services for both Navy and civilian vehicles, ensuring they are maintained in optimal condition. The project will focus on high-quality construction, efficient systems, and environmental responsibility, delivering a modern and sustainable facility for the base.
